We were delighted to welcome Sidiki Conde and his wife to Shanga — a visit filled with rhythm, laughter and genuine connection. Originally from Guinea and now living in the United States, Sidiki brought far more than drumming into our space; he brought joy, energy and a powerful sense of possibility that resonated throughout our community.
Through music and movement, Sidiki shared his remarkable life journey with our artisans, inspiring both able-bodied and disabled staff alike. His story — from a childhood in West Africa to performing and teaching across the world — is a beautiful example of how passion, perseverance and creativity can open doors far beyond circumstance. Watching him drum with such confidence and happiness was a reminder that strength takes many forms, and that joy itself can be a form of leadership.
What made the visit especially meaningful was Sidiki’s warmth and openness. He spent time connecting with our team, encouraging participation, sharing smiles and celebrating the universal language of rhythm. His visit perfectly reflected the spirit of Shanga — a place where inclusion, creativity and human potential are celebrated every day. We are deeply grateful for the music, inspiration and happiness he shared with us, and the lasting rhythm he has left behind.
